Interstitial Cystitis

I first started to experience the symptoms of Interstitial Cystitis 5 years ago. I got a urine infection that effectively never went away. I ended up doing a self diagnosis on the web as I was ignored for nearly 18 months after being told I didn’t have any signs of bacteria and I was just stressed. My bladder was sore and bleeding and I was in constant pain with burning and frequency. My life was over as I knew it and nobody seemed to want to help me.

Eventually, I made such a fuss they gave me a cystoscopy, which confirmed my suspicions. There was no treatment though and I became depressed and withdrawn.

After a lot of research, I travelled to the USA to see a nutritionist specialising in IC. I got a lot more comfortable but 5 years on, the programme didn’t get me past a certain level of pain and urgency. I couldn’t shake it off. It was then I found Toni Tucker. I was very sceptical as I have managed this disease for a long time now, but I was desperate to feel better. I have now had 7 sessions of acupuncture with Toni, and it has really brought me in to balance. After the first couple of sessions, I had a day after the treatment of feeling slightly worse, which decreased as the time went on. My urgency now is much improved, and my bladder which is usually constantly ‘sore’ feels so much better. I am really pleased with the results and it was lovely to talk to someone face to face who is so knowledgeable about the disease. That in itself was a relief as so many urologists don’t have a clue!

I am really glad I found Toni when I did…as I had all but given up on ever feeling normal. An added bonus of the treatment is that you feel more energised, and even my sinus’s which have been blocked for the last 2 years have cleared. I am so glad I don’t have to take mountains of supplements anymore, and I also eat what I like without my bladder becoming inflamed and sore. I am so grateful to Toni for her expertise, her good nature and for helping me getting my life back, I can’t recommend her enough

IC and Bladder Problems
I was ill with painful bladder syndrome, chronic cystitis, pelvic floor dysfunction and was at the end of my tether when I came across Toni. A friend, a pelvic floor physio named Maria Elliot, mentioned that many of her patients had been treated by Toni and that they had got immeasurably better. After calling Toni, she set up an appointment in London and assured me that I would get better, that I was in safe hands. From that moment on I felt completely cared for. Toni's knowledge of acupuncture is so profound that she assessed my body and after the first treatment with her I started feeling better. The process is not simple and it does take time, but all the while it is a pleasure to visit the clinic in Maidenhead, that has such healing energy. If it wasn't for Toni, I don't know what I would have done. Emotionally she saved me 100%!

Toni works hard for her patients and her technique is both effective and unique. Slowly through acupuncture my body regained it's natural balance of energy and the pain in the bladder lessened, my infections stopped, my immune system became stronger and finally my pelvic floor pain was greatly reduced. I am still healing to date but I feel I am 90% there.

Treatment for Pregnancy Nausea
I was 7 weeks pregnant and really struggling with nausea which I experienced all day and anxiety following two miscarriages. This meant juggling my job and family, including a toddler of 2.5yrs, extremely difficult to cope with.

Toni gave me four sessions of acupuncture which I found significantly reduced my nausea and was extremely calming and relaxing. Toni's blend of her background as a health professional and her knowledge and expertise in the use of this eastern chinese philosophy really suited my needs.

She is highly professional as well and kind and empathetic and I would not hesitate to visit her for further treatment or reccomend her acupuncture clinic.

The Berkshire Health Clinic 2011 Workshop
Thank you so much for organising last weekend's workshop. I learnt such a lot, and it was wonderful to meet some other people who understand what it is like to live with IC.

I found the workshop on Saturday very useful and very enjoyable as well. All the speakers very excellent, providing much information in a very user-friendly way. I learned a great deal about IC and it was good to have the opportunity to meet others with the same problem. Amazing Treatment

I came to Toni very late on in my pregnancy (once I had gone overdue) and it was without a doubt one of the best things I ever did. What she achieved was quite incredible and certainly without her (and an amazing obstetrician who originally past on Toni\'s details) I would never have had such a successful natural birth. I think all pregnant women should be aware of what Toni can offer - it would change so many aspects of the extraordinary journey that starts with birth. I cant recommend Toni enough and thank her for dedicating her time to helping us mothers.. you are doing a wonderful thing! x

IVF / DENTAL PAIN
I first came to see Toni for fertiltiy as Iwas having IVF. During one of my visits with Toni I had an abscess in my lower wisdom tooth which was very painful, as i was in IVF treatment I could not take the antibiotics that were prescribed however Ii mentioned this to Toni and she did some acupunture in that area and within in an hour the pain had reduced and the next day I was virtually pain free.

I am continuing with my IVF treatment with Toni and is helping me hugely, no side effects from the IVF medications and very relaxing and calming treatment, great.

Acupuncture for IC
About 7 weeks ago all I wanted was to die! I even attempted to write my suicide note. I was so bad; I didn't enjoy life any more. I was stuck at home with pain. I am newly married and I couldn't even be intimate with my husband. I couldn't travel or go out with my friends. As a social butterfly I was always the one organising events..

This horrible illness had stopped all that good life. I have tried everything,installations,herbal stuff ,elmiron aloe vera etc but nothing helped Then I started having Acupuncture with Tony Tucker .She is amazing .I have only had 5 treatments with her ,I have to add price is very reasonable ,I am 60% better already. I almost got my life back. She is full of knowledge about the IC. Finally I am being treated by someone who understands. She is great friendly, kind and magical with her hands and needles!

I am writing this because I know how bad it gets and I want other IC sufferers to know there is hope; you can have your life back. I am another living proof of it.

Results from Neck/Shoulder nerve problem
I'd been really suffering for 6-8 weeks with a trapped nerve in my neck which affected both front and back shoulder area and tingles down my left arm.

I tried sports massage, chiropracter visits and the paid a visit to Toni - After one session a marked improvement; after two sessions another remarkable improvement; after three sessions I can hardly believe the results have been amazing. I was very despondent before the visit as I could not sit down and relax in a comfortable position. The relief that I now have is incredible that I am 95% better.

I think Toni has worked miracles in curing this very painful problem and I\'m delighted with the results. Acupuncture is extremely relaxing and gives you a sense of wellbeing from lots of angles and Toni is the best in the UK that I know of.

IC and Pregnancy
I first starting acupuncture treatment with Toni about five years ago, after being diagnosed with interstitial cysistis. I started out with an exclusion diet, this helped a little but just a little and then the consultant suggested I try acupuncture with Toni. After just a couple of treatments things were much improved - the pain associated with the condition was gone and frequency of needing to go was much reduced, sometimes I'd even get through a whole night without waking up to go. I felt like a new person and was able to re-introduce much of the food I'd excluded.

I've continued acupuncture on and off with Toni ever since - going back as and when symptoms start up again. Toni has also treated me through two pregnancies, combining her experience in both acupuncture and midwifery. I found acupuncture espec beneficial in my second pregnancy, i felt very naueous and exhausted and it helped re-energise me. I also had two very straightforward and quick 'natural' delieveries and I'm confident that treatments with Toni in the weeks prior contributed to this.

General Health
One night I did something I hadn\'t done before - made my way downstairs in the early hours of the morning for a drink. And suddenly I found myself falling and hitting the wall as I missed the last step. I got up, thought nothing of it, had a drink and went to bed again.

For a few days I felt sore but carried on. Being a bowler, I suddenly realised that it wasn't comfortable to continue with my sport as I could not swing my right arm backwards.

As luck would have it, I read an article on Acupuncture in the local paper - the Maidenhead Advertiser - and decided to give it a try. So I phoned Toni's Clinic [then located in Cookham] and made an appointment.

My husband accompanied me and he was having a joke at my expense as I lay there, face down, with quite a number of needles stuck in my lower back - wondering whether I looked like a hedgehog!!

Well, it was all worthwhile as that one session alone resulted in me being able to bend my arm and touch my back - hoorah.

I was sold on Acupuncture from then on, and have never looked back. If I have any problems, I just go along to Toni and she puts me right.

Acupuncture for IC

I would like to encourage anyone with IC to try acupuncture. I have benefited hugely. I am off mostly all of my medication,and am virtually sympton free now. I had tried various other treatments, but nothing came close to the positive effect of the acupuncture. I now no longer have urine infections,as it has boosted my immune system as well.

Acupuncture Treatment for IC and Hypertension
Toni has been treating me for interstitial cystitis very successfully for several months. My symptoms stared to improve soon after treatment started and I am now able to lead a normal life. It is such a relief to be able to sleep through the night, travel and have a social life again.

As Toni treats holistically, she was also concerned about my hypertension and has been treating this during our sessions. My blood pressure has definitely improved.

On a recent session I mentioned that I was concerned that my glaucoma was getting worse and the medication I was taking did not seem to be reducing the eye pressures. She began to treat me for this too and my eye pressure was found to be substantially reduced on my last visit to the hospital. I am very grateful to Toni for all the care and trouble she has taken to improve my health.

I am new to acupuncture and have only had a few sessions. Acupuncture differs form Western medicine in that it looks at the whole person. GP\'s and Consultants rarely look beyond one specific problem. I am already beginning to notice subtle changes in my bladder and certainly a difference in my emotions and approach to life. Treatment with Toni and acupuncture has given me hope.
