| How Does Acupuncture WorkFrom a biomedical viewpoint, acupuncture is believed to stimulate the nervous system, influencing the production of the body’s communication biochemicals; hormones and neurotransmitters. The resulting biochemical changes activate the body’s self-regulating homeostatic systems, stimulating its natural healing abilities and promoting physical and emotional well-being. Every client is unique, and we will spend time with each patient, understanding their symptoms (both physical or emotional) and identifying the root cause of the illness. From here we will build a treatment plan. Traditional acupuncture can also be used as a preventative measure to strengthen the overall constitution and promote well-being. |
